Boardgame in Tabletop Simulator!

I've had this idea to create a boardgame based on one of my all-time favourite Arcade games...'The House of The Dead'.

The game is essentially a rail-shooter, where the camera moves through the level and all zombies need to be killed on the screen before you can continue...or if they get to you first...you die :D Its so simple but the gameplay is soooooo fun, i cant count the amount of times i've played it.

So i wanted to see if i could turn it into a tabletop game using a board, dice and cards.

A few weeks ago myself and some friends bought 'Tabletop Simulator'. Which, as the name suggests, it simulates a tabletop environment and allows you to play board games just like the real thing...And best of all...It allows you to create and import your own assets!!!

So for the past week or two i have been creating the first level of the game in 3D and importing it into the simulator. Now the board is in and has basic textures on it ready for testing.

The idea is that the player (or players), roll a dice to move along the path, Drawing from the encounter deck as they go, and battle the zombies that appear.

When they reach blue hexagons, the path splits, and the direction they continue on depends on the outcome of the event that happens on that tile. Success will mean a more direct path throught the level and a chance of a health increase, Failure will result in a longer path, meaning more encounters and more chances to lose.

I have now begun creating the deck of cards which will represent zombie encounters and item collection.

The boss for the level (Chariot Type 027) rules are still being developed as i create assets for the game, I want the boss encounter to introduce new mechanics not present in the level.

To Be Continued...
